The Yamaha YZ250X is a purpose-built cross-country and enduro competition motorcycle designed for riders who demand lightweight handling, aggressive two-stroke performance, and race-proven reliability. Powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled two-stroke single-cylinder engine, the YZ250X is specifically tuned for GNCC®, hare scramble, woods, and enduro racing, delivering a broad and controllable powerband across varying terrain.
Unlike the motocross-focused YZ250, the YZ250X features revised Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS) settings, a lower compression ratio, unique ignition mapping, and a wide-ratio 5-speed transmission, providing smoother power delivery and improved versatility for technical trails, tight woods, and high-speed sections.
Built around Yamaha's lightweight aluminum YZ chassis, the motorcycle utilizes premium KYB Speed-Sensitive System suspension, specifically tuned for cross-country riding. New for 2025, the front fork receives tool-free compression adjusters, while the updated cooling system improves performance during demanding off-road conditions.
